Our story
HONNA (Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit with a singular mission: to Promote, Preserve, and Protect the quality of life in the Historic Old Northeast. Founded in 1974, we are St. Petersburg's oldest neighborhood association, representing over 2,500 households and powered by the people who call this neighborhood home.
Sharing the story of our neighborhood
HONNA keeps the neighborhood connected and visible through events that bring residents together, communications that keep everyone informed, and advocacy that puts the Old Northeast on the map. From monthly Porch Parties to the annual Candlelight Tour of Homes, we create the moments that make this neighborhood a beloved community.
Protecting what makes the Old Northeast irreplaceable
From our brick streets and granite curbs to our protective oak canopy and century-old homes, the Old Northeast's character is worth fighting for. HONNA advocates for responsible development, supports homeowners navigating historic designation, and works alongside the City of St. Petersburg to ensure the neighborhood's natural beauty and architectural heritage are protected for generations to come.
Looking out for the people who live here
HONNA represents Old Northeast residents before City Council and administrative departments, ensuring our community has a voice in decisions that affect daily life. We work to maintain the safety, security, and quality of life that make this neighborhood one of St. Petersburg's most desirable places to call home.
